Bearnstow Stories
“Bearnstow Stories” is a choreographic project that reflects the physical place, historic importance, and artistic influence of Bearnstow, a 72-year-old organization located in Mt. Vernon, Maine that continues to be run by its founding leadership since 1946. Ruth Grauert and her partner founded Bearnstow with the mission to bring together people of all races, religions and genders, making Bearnstow deeply dedicated to dance history and social justice. As Ruth approaches 99, 3 Spice Dance is recognizing how much knowledge and history this place holds, as it has shaped dancers for the last 70 years. Working with video, and sounds of Bearnstow we hope to find a deeper understanding of this place and it's significance to us through our creative process.

an open level class for dancers of ALL ages taught by Molly Hess
$8-$16 sliding scale
A continuously moving guided warm up (based in developmental movement patterns) will prepare us to dive boldly into improvisational dance scores that we will approach with care, but explore without preciousness. We’ll play with memory, momentum, and bad magic tricks. Their won’t be a lot of counting but there will be a lot of dancing. This class is open to people of all ages and experiences.
