Tyler Rai is a movement artist and somatic educator. She holds a B.A. from Bennington College and a certificate in Somatic Education from the Moving On Center. Tyler has studied under Anna Halprin, K.J. Holmes, Jan Burkhardt and Sigal Zouk, Susan Sgobati and Dana Reitz. She is currently leading a temporal company called HUNGRY MOTHERS whose work focuses on performance as contemporary ritual and land stewardship practices. She has been an artist-in-residence at The Sable Project and Red Horse Studios, with work presented in Berlin, Germany, New York City, and the hills of Stockbridge, Vermont. She has had the pleasure of working with K.J. Holmes and Emily Johnson/CATALYST Dance, in addition to recent collaborations with Slow Research Lab in the Netherlands. She is currently finishing her certification in Anna Halprin’s Life/Art Process, and is very thrilled to be here.
